Sorry, i don't know your native langauge, so can speak only on English.
Is LaserDisc had better quality, than Manga Entertainment DVD rerelease from 2003? If so, i wonder where you get such good rips from LaserDiscs. And as I see, you doing only hard-sub translation (i just wanted to watch this quality with subtitles for another language, becuase i never saw LaserDisc version on other sites)?
Anyway, this rip looks very good, thanks!
Hi! No problem, as good europeans, we are all bilingual
The laserdiscs have better quality than Manga Entertainment DVDs. And Manga Entertainment distributed the same composite master to every place and release overseas.
Neither of the Guyver OVAs were released on DVD in Japan so all we had were the laserdiscs as best video source to work with.
Answering your question about where we got the video source, we have bought the first set of laserdics at the end of 2021 from a japanese auctions website and our encoder used his doomsday duplicator to rip the LDs. It's a rip specifically made for this release and as it was bought jointly by the team, we agreeded to hardsub it. In the beggining of the fansub we did hardsubs a lot more, now we almost only hardsub these type of releases where we spend money into them. It happened before with our releases of Yoma, Makaryuudo, Kuro no Shishi, Black Magic M66 (this one was not hardsubbed) and more to come. Lately we have been discussing the sharing of raws or rips from the laserdiscs we buy, but for now, we don't share them.
